European Stock Markets open in Mixed-fashion

European stock markets opened in a mixed fashion today, as investors return from the holiday season and assess the economic outlook for the new year.

Investors eyes are directed towards the contradictory insinuations of China's opening up and a resurgence in COVID-19 cases, and its impact on Europe. In addition, focus is being held on to the importance of this export market to some of the region’s biggest companies.


The confirmation of Chinas shrank in its manufacturing activity, has added insult to injury as it represents the fifth drop in a row. On the other hand, Oil prices rose higher today, trading near their highest levels in a month despite the shrinkage in China's manufactures , the world's largest crude importer and second-largest oil consumer.
